Job summary

Buckingham Companies is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to oversee budgeting, estimating, design coordination, and procurement across multiple projects. You will coordinate with development and leasing teams, manage design reviews, and ensure projects stay on budget and on schedule.

Ideal candidates bring a strong background in construction management, extensive scheduling and cost-control capabilities, and familiarity with LEED/NGBS standards.

Qualifications

• College degree in construction-related field preferred – construction technology, civil or mechanical engineering, construction management, architecture, or experience commensurate with position objectives.
• Drafting or engineering background helpful for document coordination.
• Experience in budget planning and expense monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design process on individual projects, verify plans and contract commitments.
• Assist in acquisitions and new construction processes, provide cost feedback on design issues.
• Coordinate site selection, prepare cost estimates, and procure engineering/architectural services.
• Ensure project plans account for proper engineering and stimulate coordination of marketing materials.
• Lead designers to meet project budgets and review design documents across phases (SD, DD, 100% CDs).
• Mentor team members; solicit bids and estimates from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Direct pre-construction efforts with Leasing Department (TI estimates, schedules, proposals, contracts).
• Develop project scope documents and maintain preconstruction pipeline tracker for real-time visibility.
• Coordinate external consultants and ensure due diligence for land acquisition and development.
