Job summary

Ernest-Gordon-Recruitment-Limited in Syracuse, NY seeks a Preconstruction Estimating Department Administrator to support information procurement, bid coordination and the preparation of accurate proposals. You will work closely with the Preconstruction team, reading plans, performing quantity takeoffs and maintaining document control to ensure timely bids.

You will develop expertise in commercial construction estimating, collaborate with subcontractors and vendors, and help manage bid processes

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year degree in Building Construction Technology, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• Confident reading and understanding commercial construction plans and specs, with strong mathematical ability and experience producing quantity takeoffs.
• Strong MS Word and Excel skills, digital takeoff experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Project; STACK experience advantageous.
• Professional, self-motivated team player with excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills, able to prioritise workload and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support Preconstruction team with information procurement, document control, bid coordination and preparation of accurate proposals and presentations.
• Coordinate plans, specifications, addenda, scopes, takeoffs, and quotations, ensuring bid info is complete and organized.
• Assist with subcontractor and vendor procurement, pre-qualification and database management; support budgeting, forecasting and risk analysis.
• Support client relationships and business development activities, coordinating marketing, lead generation and insurance requirements.
