Job summary

GMCA, Inc. in Syracuse, NY seeks a Pre-construction Estimating Administrator to support the estimating team by gathering data, performing takeoffs, and assembling proposals and bid packages.

You will coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors, travel to client sites, and help develop strategies for new business and client relationships. This role requires attention to data and accuracy and familiarity with estimating software and documents.

Supervise and maintain client &consultant relationships with GMCA, Inc. Responsible for all project purchases and accuracyassociated Accurate Project Profit/ Loss statements.Reports To:Pre-Construction Estimator - ManagerMental and Visual Requirements:Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing andanalyzing data and figures, using a .computer terminal, and reading. •Travel:Some Travel to visit clients and or items relating to and including accurately estimatingassigned projects.Limited relocation expenses will be considered.Responsibilities:• Assist Pre-construction Managers with Pre-construction and estimatinginformation procurement, process set-up, engagement and completion of relatedtasks.• Assist and participate in preconstruction training, work product, scheduling andperformance.• Participate in the creation and execution of strategies for new businessdevelopment, marketing, and procurement of new client relationships.• Participate in establishing new client relationships• Maintain and be a positive influence on existing client relationships.• Manage and assist with the procurement of all documents, information, articles,plans and specifications and correctly assemble proposals, bids and presentationsto clients• Participate in preconstruction strategies and formulation of proposals andpresentations.• Assist in the creation of clear scopes of work for each subcontractor bidincorporated into GMCA, Inc. proposals.• Assist in the procurement, pre-qualification and vetting of new subcontractor andvendor relationships beneficial to GMCA.• Assist in the maintenance of GMCA subcontractor Data Base.• Assist in Competitive bidding, budgeting, forecasting, client negotiations withhead of Preconstruction Department.• Analyze potential project risk factors and pitfalls on a case-by-case basis• Create and assemble quantity takeoffs, subcontractor and vendor quotations tomaintain thorough and consistent bidding practices• Learn and possess a good understanding and working knowledge of the companyestimating software, forms and procedures necessary to formulate an entireestimate.• Maintain estimating records for each proposal type and category. Assist with thepreparation and presentation of the Preconstruction hand off to the Constructiondepartment.• Provide support to Estimating Department in creating marketing material.• Assist in canvassing market for new potential construction and renovation projects.• Contact owners, architects, engineers to find leads for new projects.• Create and send out marketing material to potential new clients. Follow up asnecessary.• Coordinate creation of bid proposals and assure all required forms are filled outand turned in with each proposal.• Act as a liaison for bid bond, bond and insurance requests for projects.• Work with Estimators in creating project and bid proposals.• Document control of all drawings, specifications and amends during bid process.• Review all proposals for completeness.
