Job summary

Sachse Construction in Detroit is seeking a Commercial Preconstruction Estimating Assistant who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive to support the Preconstruction team through pursuit, bidding, and buying processes.

You will coordinate bid activities, manage project and Trade Partner information, and assist with turnover activities, while thriving in a fast-paced environment and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, estimating, preconstruction, project management, or admin support preferred.
• Strong communication and proofreading skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with clients, trade partners, and team members.
• Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization abilities.
• Resourceful problem solver with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain pursuit and project information across platforms, including CRM, BuildingConnected, time-tracking software and shared drives.
• Order plans, specifications, and bidding documents.
• Coordinate bid and proposal activities including bid bonds and advertising notifications.
• Create, compile, organize and maintain project documents electronically and in print.
• Update project status and tracking systems as opportunities progress.
• Solicit and secure Trade Partner participation through outreach efforts.
• Identify qualified Trade Partners and collect information for setup and prequalification.
• Maintain estimating reports and bid activity logs.
• Coordinate internal award announcements and project notifications.
• Archive project files and maintain organized records.
• Provide administrative support to the Preconstruction team.
