Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking engineering and construction management students for a hands-on internship in the preconstruction phase. You will work with our Preconstruction and Operations teams, supporting bid development, document organization, and cost estimation.

Gain exposure to proposals, subcontractor analysis, and site visits, while using modeling tools to develop quantities and learn industry practices from experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Team player willing to take on challenges.
• Currently enrolled in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
• Eager to learn and ask questions.
• Interest in a construction career for a builder.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing proposals and client presentations.
• Analyze subcontractor bids and vendor proposals for project alignment.
• Prepare and assemble bid packages with necessary documents and specs.
• Attend preconstruction meetings and assist with follow-ups.
• Organize and maintain project documents (plans, specs, addenda).
• Participate in site visits to understand project conditions.
• Support estimating with quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Use modeling software (Revit, Navisworks) to develop quantities and assist estimating.
• Collaborate with leads, estimators, and team to ensure timely preconstruction activities.
