Job summary

Rudolph Libbe Inc. in Walbridge, OH is seeking a Preconstruction Engineer to develop preliminary schedules, budgets, and estimates from conceptual to construction documents. The role focuses on analyzing building systems, materials, and cost models to support project decisions.

You will perform quantity take-offs, conduct constructability reviews, coordinate with operations, and lead bid packages and supplier bids to align scope with the client budget.

Qualifications

• Four-year bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong reading and interpretation of contract documents, drawings, and schedules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs via onscreen software and studies for all items in the assigned scope.
• Perform constructability analysis through identification of design and constructability issues.
• Work with operations staff to ensure general conditions and general requirements items are included in the estimate.
• Prepare detailed estimates including general conditions and lead Value Engineering to align scope with client budget.
• Prepare and analyze cost models during Design Development.
• Create subcontractor/material supplier bid lists.
• Lead in the solicitation process to obtain bids and analyze them.
