Job summary

The University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time research assistant to support projects in the Department of Pharmacology. Under supervision of the PI or senior lab member, you will contribute to studies on neural and behavioral processes related to drug addiction and relapse, including metformin interactions.

You will maintain records in notebooks and databases, review literature, and assist with maintaining lab supplies and equipment, plus SOP documentation and meetings.

Qualifications

• BS in neuroscience or related field with 4+ years in a preclinical lab.
• Willingness and ability to work with rodents (rats and mice).
• Strong motivation and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing research projects on neural and behavioral processes related to drug addiction and relapse, including cocaine and metformin interactions.
• Maintain detailed records in lab notebooks and online databases; summarize literature for meetings or reports.
• Maintain supplies and equipment, sterilize materials, and document protocols and SOPs.
