Job summary

The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, invites applications for a research assistant role in the Pharmacology Department. The position supports projects on neural and behavioral processes underlying drug addiction and relapse, under supervision of the PI and senior lab members.

Responsibilities include maintaining lab records, literature reviews, and assisting with routine lab tasks. A BS in neuroscience or related field and willingness to work with rodents are required; strong organizational

Qualifications

  • BS in neuroscience or a related field with experience in a preclinical research laboratory or equivalent education/experience (4+ years).
  • Experience with basic molecular and wet laboratory techniques preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team; experience with computers and programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing a research project and support ongoing research on neural and behavioral processes related to drug addiction and relapse.
  • Maintain detailed records of experiments and procedures in lab notebooks and online databases; summarize literature findings in meetings or reports.
  • Assist with maintenance and inventory of lab supplies, equipment, sterilization, and SOPs.
