Qualifications

• DDS/DMD degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in general dentistry.
• Post-doctoral General Dentist Residency or training preferred.
• Minimal teaching experience at an academic institution and/or health center preferred.
• Clinical experience with CAD/CAM, laser, and emerging technologies in dentistry.
• Committed to educating and empowering students with a wide range of clinical and academic abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student hand-skills development in general dentistry in the simulation clinic.
• Interact positively with students as future colleagues.
• Instruct and demonstrate procedures on manikins and patients during clinic sessions in all areas of general dentistry.
• Model professionalism and adhere to CDMI protocols and policies.
• Maintain competency with rotary endodontics, CAD/CAM, and lasers.
• Mentor pre‑doctoral students and adopt diverse teaching techniques.
• Serve on committees within the college/university and collaborate with faculty.
• Develop teaching materials and exams, and deliver lectures and SIM demos.
• Demonstrate and document student performance and use the Electronic Health Record.
• Take courses in education to improve lecturing and assessment skills.
• Evaluate students regularly and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with dental specialists for patient-centered care.
• Be a positive influence on MWU CDMI program.
• Mentor students in small groups and work with faculty calibration.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed by the Associate Dean.
