Midwestern University Illinois invites applications for an Assistant Professor Preclinical Faculty who holds a DDS/DMD and has strong clinical skills in general dentistry with CAD/CAM expertise. Post-doctoral residency is preferred, and some teaching experience at an academic health center is desirable.

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Preclinical Education, the candidate will supervise student hand skills in the simulation clinic and teach general dentistry topics, modeling professionalism

Qualifications

• DDS/DMD degree required; post-doctoral residency preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of general dental clinical practice experience preferred.
• Strong clinical skills and comfort with CAD/CAM technologies; teaching experience at academic health centers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student hand skills in the simulation clinic across general dentistry.
• Assist in delivering lectures and demonstrations of general dentistry topics.
• Serve as a positive role model in professionalism and life-long learning.
• Be open to technology and new delivery systems to mentor students.
• Develop and deliver lectures or lead courses as requested by the Associate Dean for Preclinical Education.
• Attend committee work within the college and university as needed.
• Evaluate students and provide timely feedback; participate in performance reviews.
• Maintain and demonstrate proficiency with the college's patient digital record keeping system.
• Collaborate with dental specialists to model professional collaboration.
