Job summary

Pharmaron (San Diego) is seeking a Research Associate I or II- Preclinical to support in vivo animal studies and surgical procedures. You will work with veterinarians and study teams in a fast-paced CRO environment to advance translational research across therapeutic areas.

The role emphasizes hands-on preclinical work, GLP compliance, and collaboration within a dynamic team. A degree in veterinary science or related field is preferred, with 1–5+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 1–5+ years of relevant preclinical, veterinary research, surgical, or laboratory animal experience
• Associate degree in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or related field preferred
• RVT certification is a plus
• Experience supporting animal studies or surgical research preferred
• Working knowledge of preclinical research techniques and GLP studies is desirable

Responsibilities

• In Vivo & Surgical Support for animal preclinical studies
• Administer test articles via oral gavage, SQ, IV, dermal, etc.
• Collect biological specimens including blood from lab animals
• Provide catheter placements, anesthesia support, and surgical incisions
• Conduct necropsies and tissue collection, monitor post-op health
• Ensure GLP compliance and proper study documentation
• Collaborate with Study Directors, QA/QC and research teams
