Job summary

Viking Electric in Minneapolis, MN is hiring a Wire Cutter (2nd shift) to coil, spool, cut and label wire for customer orders using specialized machinery. No prior experience required; on-the-job training is provided and teamwork is essential.

Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (75 lbs with help), have basic math skills, and be comfortable using RF devices and warehouse software. This full-time role includes a strong benefits package and growth opportunities within Sonepar.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, or up to 75 lbs with the assistance of supportive equipment or team members
• Proficient in using RF devices, computer systems, and other warehouse technology
• Math skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide into different units of measure, including fractions and decimals, using a calculator
• High attention to detail
• Ability to stand and walk for the full length of your shift
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
• 1-2 years of experience with wire cutting machinery
• Experience and current certification for PIT vehicles (known as forklifts)
• Basic English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review customer orders to determine the appropriate reel size and the type, size, and color of wire needed.
• Measure and cut wire using cutting machinery.
• Unload empty reels and load new ones onto the wire machine.
• Restock and replenish wire inventory as needed.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety regulations.
