Job summary

Ohmstede Ltd. is seeking a Welder to fabricate or repair shell and tube heat exchangers and other equipment for the refining and petrochemical industries.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, applying welding techniques (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW), and ensuring high-quality joints. Overtime and long work hours may be required. Candidates must pass a pre-employment welding examination and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to four years of related experience.
• Knowledge of machining practices.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must be able to read and interpret simple measuring devices.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and translate into the finished product.
• Weld shells back together and repair exchanger parts.
• Cut tubes and shells as needed for retubing.
• Perform oxy/acetylene cutting and grinding as required.
• Maintain and clean work area and equipment after completion.
• Work overtime or weekends as needed.
