Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense in Fairfield, OH is seeking a Welder to join our shop team. You will read blueprints, set up and weld using MIG and TIG on carbon steel, stainless and aluminum, and ensure parts meet shop drawings with proper measurement tools.

A Navy Welder qualification or ability to obtain it is preferred; candidates should work independently, maintain safety standards, and support continuous improvement across the manufacture of air movement products.

Qualifications

• High School / Trade School preferred.
• Minimum 2 years welding experience.
• Able to read blueprints and use measuring devices.
• Weld MIG & TIG on carbon steel, 304/316SS, aluminum.
• Work independently and follow directions with safety in mind.
• Able to use hand tools and maintain quality work.

Responsibilities

• Fits, tacks, welds mild carbon steel, 304 & 316SS and aluminum.
• Assembles using MIG and TIG welding equipment and plasma torch.
• Process parts per shop drawings with proper measurement.
• Produce quality parts safely and efficiently with minimal spatter.
• Maintain good housekeeping and report equipment issues.
• Follow safety equipment procedures and pass Navy Pub exams.
