Job summary

Fisher Industries seeks a Heavy Equipment Welder to perform specialized fabrication and welding to maintain, modify, and repair rolling stock, facilities, and equipment. This safety-sensitive, hourly role reports to the Area Shop Foreman and focuses on used equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, fabricating parts, and performing quality checks while adhering to safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years welding/shop experience.
• Experience using electrical tools, equipment and measurements to meet standards.
• Operate all types of welding equipment.
• Read, understand, and apply technical instructions and blueprints.
• Wear and maintain PPE as required.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain field machinery and equipment.
• Read blueprints, diagrams and weld symbols to build or repair parts.
• Operate welding tools and measuring devices.
• Fabricate metal parts per drawings.
• Perform quality checks to meet standards.
• Repair welded parts following engineering specs.
• Adhere to safety rules and practices.
