Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Norfolk, VA is seeking a highly skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our Norfolk VA team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding processes, capable of working with aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.

This role requires the ability to read and interpret tight tolerance drawings and perform fixture and setup of parts using precision welding tables. In addition to welding, some assembly work will be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required with 6 years of related experience or 2 years post-secondary with 2+ years experience.
• Minimum 5 years of welding experience or trade school certifications.
• Ability to pass a 3G plate weld test in all positions (Al, Steel, Stainless).
• Strong TIG and MIG welding proficiency and reading of technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Weld TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) on aluminum, steel, stainless.
• Fabricate structures and machined components per specifications.
• Read tight tolerance drawings for accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Fixturing and setup parts using precision welding tables.
• Perform assembly work in addition to welding duties.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet project goals.
• Maintain workmanship to military standards.
