Job summary

MICA Steelworks is seeking a Welder to fit, join, fabricate, and repair metal parts. You will apply welding techniques per product specs and production schedules, coordinating with the Welding Lead, Shift Supervisor, and others to ensure parts meet quality standards.

UT passable welds and production performance are essential. Day-to-day duties include reading blueprints, setting up welds, and performing multiple weld types while maintaining safe practices and consistent output.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Welding experience: 1 year minimum.
• Pass 2G, T-Joint and Carbon Air Arc tests.
• Ability to read layouts and drawings.
• Able to operate basic hand tools and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding duties using wire welding equipment as per layouts or drawings.
• Weld steel components per engineering drawings and work orders.
• Weld in various directions: flat and horizontal.
• Set up, layout, and fabricate parts using jigs/fixtures.
• Work with fitters/welders on multi-component assemblies.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, and related tools safely.
• Inspect welds and verify conformance to specs.
