Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Houston, TX seeks a welder/fitter to join our manufacturing team. Base pay is $21.50 per hour, with day shift 6:00AM–2:30PM and overtime potential based on orders.

You will read blueprints, set welder settings, operate overhead crane, ensure bead quality, and support continuous improvement. Associate degree or 2–3 years welding experience preferred; forklift experience required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a 2-year College or technical school; or 1–3 years welding experience.
• Read blueprints and drawings.
• Read and comprehend documents including safety rules and manuals.
• Communicate effectively one-on-one and in small groups.
• Perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow with bead conditions.
• Read a tape measure and blueprints to shop standards.
• Train others in welding procedures and ensure bead quality.
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
• Maintain safety rules and continuous improvement in the work area.
