Job summary
Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated production welder to perform MIG welding on structural steel components in a fast-paced environment, with a high attention to detail.
This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and paid time off from day one, with overtime anticipated and mentorship to support growth.
Night shift runs 4:30 pm to 5:00 am with $25 base pay plus a $1 shift differential; reading blueprints and coordinating weld settings are essential.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year welding experience in a production environment or valid welding certification.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Willingness to obtain CWB and AWS certifications.
- Experience with forklift/overhead crane is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Follow safety rules for working in a manufacturing environment.
- Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow with bead condition.
- Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
- Adjust welding process as needed for repairs and bead shape.
- Train and teach proper welding procedures per job standards.
- Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
- Maintain bead quality and correct sequences.
- Support continuous improvement in the work area.
- Communicate effectively while performing duties.
