Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Houston, TX seeks a Fitter/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on welding and fitting components to specifications, with shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours based on daily orders and seasonality.

Base pay is $21.50 per hour with potential overtime. Candidates should have welding experience, read blueprints, and maintain safety and quality standards while working with tooling and lifting equipment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; or (1) to three (3) years welding experience in manufacturing.
• Read blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy manuals, safety programs, operating instructions.
• Effective communication one-on-one and in small groups.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually.

Responsibilities

• Welds and fits components to specifications for pipe, tube, CJP scenarios.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a safe work environment.
• Achieve and maintain AWS and CWB certifications.
• Interpret blueprints to determine required parts and quantities.
• Measure, mark, and locate components; advise on shortages.
• Position sub-assemblies using clamps and handling equipment; tack weld as needed.
• Use tools and templates to join parts per blueprints within tolerances.
• Tag parts and maintain sequence accuracy.
