Job summary

Georg Fischer Central Plastics LLC is seeking a welding technician to join the team in Oklahoma. You will read blueprints, set up and operate welding equipment, and fabricate parts to specification with minimal supervision. Emphasis on quality welds and adherence to safety standards.

The role requires maintaining equipment, following work orders, and complying with ISO/OSHA guidelines. Certification tests must be passed within the first six months, with recertification every six months

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine welding processes.
• Plans work order procedures including tools and materials per job instructions.
• Prepares, assembles and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Repairs and fabricates items using cutting, burning and welding techniques to meet standards.
• Monitors welding, cutting and fitting to prevent overheating or distortion.
• Maintains and cleans equipment and work area; notifies supervisor of faults.
• Adheres to safety policies and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and interprets drawings to select welding methods.
• Prepares parts and welds joints as specified; tacks and assembles components.
• Performs cutting, burning and welding to fabricate or repair items.
• Monitors process to prevent warping or damage; ensures quality welds.
• Maintains clean work area and safe equipment; follows safety policies.
