Job summary

Weiler in Knoxville, IA is seeking a Welder for the 1st shift to lay out, tack weld and weld cast, machined, forged, and fabricated steel into structural frames according to blueprints.

You will read blueprints, select jigs, position parts, weld in multiple positions, operate cutting torch and plasma cutter, and finish with grinding. Requires a HS diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing experience; successful weld test preferred.

• Ability to read and comprehend documents and specs
• Able to read measuring devices (tape, gauges)

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, tack weld and weld components according to blueprints and specs
• Select equipment, jigs and fixtures; plan layout
• Position, align and fit parts; tack weld to secure for welding
• Weld in various positions using GMAW and related procedures
• Operate cutting torch safely; perform grinding after welding
• Repair products by dismantling and re-welding as needed
