Job summary

onsemi is seeking a QA/QC Technician to support wafer fabrication and metrology operations. You will inspect wafers, measure characteristics, and document quality data to ensure conformance with internal and customer standards.

Join a team reporting to the Metrology/Characterization Manager. Work in cleanroom, etch room, and inspection areas, handling chemicals with strict safety and quality protocols, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• Three or more years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Quality control or quality assurance background strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with ability to enter and maintain accurate data.
• Ability to use inspection tools such as dial calipers and micrometers.
• Familiarity with SPC, quality systems, and MES.
• Experience operating optical inspection, microscopy, laser-based metrology, automated defect detection, CMM, microscope, or X-ray equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final wafer inspections using metrology and inspection equipment.
• Handle wafers in cleanroom and etch-room environments while following contamination control procedures.
• Measure wafer characteristics and classify defects, documenting deviations and nonconforming material.
• Record inspection results, SPC data, production information, and material traceability in manufacturing systems.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and verify metrology, inspection, and process equipment.
