Job summary

Commercial Tool Group in Michigan is seeking a Vac, Trim, & Fixture Builder to turn CAD intent into vacuum and trimming tooling that keeps manufacturing moving. You’ll review designs at kickoff, then assemble and fit fixtures, gauges, and automation tooling to print, installing pins, clamps, slides, pneumatics, and vacuum components with precision.

Daily you’ll perform hands-on setup on the shop floor, document changes, flag issues early, and support repairs and engineering updates.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED; technical certificate/apprenticeship preferred.
• 3+ years in fixture/machine building, tool & die, or automation assembly (automotive preferred).
• Blueprint/CAD interpretation; precision measurement; pneumatic/vacuum troubleshooting.
• Able to run hi-lo and overhead crane; strong teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Review designs at kickoff and assemble and fit fixtures, gauges, and automation tooling to print—installing pins, clamps, slides, pneumatics, and vacuum components with precision.
• Hands-on setup on the shop floor, verification of components, and between bench work and surface plates with indicators.
• Document changes, flag issues early, and support repairs and engineering updates.
• Prove-out/validation, tryouts, and buy-offs on tooling.
