Precision Upsetter Tooling FinisherA day in this roleYou start by reviewing tooling requirements for the manual and automatic upsetter machines, then gather micrometers, calipers, steel gauge pins, and other gages to verify critical dimensions. Next, you disassemble, recondition, bench, and clean dies and related tooling, resurfacing them with hand tools such as powered drills, grinders, and files to restore smooth finishes. Throughout the shift, you inspect dies for cracks, evaluate wear to determine if they’re salvageable, and analyze any defective parts to recommend adjustments or modifications.
