Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Final Assembly Technician to perform final assembly and test functions on UAVs/UASs. You will work hands-on with aircraft structures, support equipment, and ground station communications, escalating issues to Engineering as needed.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of production assembly experience, excellent communication, and strong attention to detail. This on-site role requires adherence to safety policies and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of assembly of small complex mechanical and electrical systems using hand tools in a production environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering assembly drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and bills of materials.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced performance driven environment where quality is critical.

Responsibilities

• Assemble UAV/UAS aircraft structures and subassemblies (fuselages, wings, ground stations, support kits).
• Operate precision measuring and test equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe workstation and production environment.
• Document production steps accurately and completely.
• Inspect components for wear, damage, or defects to ensure airworthiness.
