Job summary

AOC Metal Works in Virginia is seeking a Turret Operator to set up, operate, and maintain a turret punch press, reading blueprints to accurately cut metal parts and perform quality checks to meet production targets.

You will work with engineering and QC to ensure safety and high standards, handle tool wear monitoring, and participate in weekly maintenance; overtime and occasional weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
• Must read and understand blueprints, tape measure, calipers, and other shop drawing aids.
• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Flexibility with schedule; overtime and some weekends may be required.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, adjust and prepare turret according to blueprint specifications.
• Operate turret punch press and maintain it safely.
• De-burr parts with file or grinder, as needed.
• Package finished products and move to the proper location.
• Inspect according to QC standards; perform first piece and ongoing inspections.
• Monitor tool wear and request maintenance when needed.
• Perform weekly machine maintenance and assist with tooling/program improvements.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
