Job summary

PTC is a leading manufacturer of welded and cold-drawn mechanical steel tubing and related components. The Mill Cutoff Operator assists the mill operator with changeovers, monitors tube quality, performs equipment adjustments and maintenance, and supports inspection, documentation, and training activities to ensure consistent product quality.

Qualifications

• Math skills required; ability to reason through adjustments to equipment.
• Must have an average background in math.
• Physically capable of lifting, pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds.
• Able to walk, stand, climb for the entire shift; bend/squat with full range of motion.

Responsibilities

• Assist mill operator in mill changeovers.
• Monitor tube quality: surface condition, ID/OD, gauge, length, end condition, and straightness.
• Adjust or replace cutoff tooling; lubricate cutoff; grease bearings; oil gear boxes.
• Assist in eddy current setup and painting unit.
• Help mill loader when possible; document weld mill final inspection.
• Train new employees; clean all areas of the plant; perform other duties.
