Global Steering Systems Holdin in Watertown, CT is seeking a skilled toolmaker/tool and die maker to plan, construct, alter and repair tooling for high-volume automotive production. You will work from drawings, follow tool design layouts and operate standard tool room equipment to keep production running smoothly.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• Apprenticeship certificate as toolmaker/tool and die maker.
• Knowledge of CAD software is a plus.

Mansioni

• Plan, construct, alter and repair tooling to extremely close tolerances used on vehicle production lines.
• Construct tools and fixtures for production use where no design is available, following drawings and layouts.
• Operate all conventional tool room equipment and hand tools (trak machines, milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, hacksaws, micrometers, gages).
• Assist and instruct apprentices.
• Support tool breakages.
• Assemble, fit and repair tools.
• Monitor tools on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify repairs or improvements.
• Assist with tool maintenance to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair tooling and machines.
