Job summary

H. T. PROF Group in Hastings, Michigan is seeking experienced Toolmakers to join the Tool Room team.

You will build, repair, and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and production tooling for high-volume manufacturing with a focus on precision and reliability. You will interpret engineering drawings and CAD prints to determine methods, set up manual and CNC machines, and perform finishing and inspection to tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship in Tool & Die preferred.
• Experience building/repairing dies, molds, fixtures and production tooling.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume manufacturing.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine machining methods and material needs.
• Set up and operate mills, lathes, drills, grinders, and CNC Tool Room equipment.
• Perform precision surface grinding and inspection to ensure tolerances.
• Diagnose tooling failures and implement repairs to minimise downtime.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
