Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. in Dayton, OH is hiring for a full-time role to recondition and/or manufacture indexable cutting tools. The position requires reading blueprints, inspection equipment experience, and operation of manual milling machinery.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license may be required. Compensation starts at $20.00 to $27.93 per hour, with the actual wage based on location and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• 2+ year experience with reading blueprints and using inspection equipment or equivalent
• 2+ year experience with operating some type of manual milling machinery or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Analyze prints, drawings etc. to determine dimensions and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools for the job and machine speeds and feeds.
• Break down tools for weld prep.
• Fixture and set up mill for repair.
• Mill insert pockets using various cutting tools.
• Use tool print specifications to hold tolerances.
• Inspect repaired parts to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Complete inspection reports and documentation as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report to & communicate with Shop Supervisor.
• Train others as needed
• Other special duties as assigned.
• Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
• Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
