Job summary

R&E Automated Systems is seeking a skilled Machine Tool Builder to join our team. You will assemble custom machinery and build production tooling while using prints and schematics. Experience with welding fixtures is a plus.

The role requires semi-frequent travel to facilities in Detroit and Port Huron. Qualified candidates should have 3+ years of experience, strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in machine building or tooling assembly.
• Practical experience building welding fixtures or workholding tooling.
• Proven ability to read prints, assembly drawings, and pneumatic diagrams.
• Hands-on experience with manual toolroom machines (mills, lathes, grinders).
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel semi-frequently.

Responsibilities

• Read mechanical prints and pneumatic schematics.
• Assemble and debug custom machinery and production tooling.
• Build and fit specialized welding fixtures and jigs.
• Use precision tools to check dimensions.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during tryouts.
