Job summary

Wagner is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to build, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, and fixtures. The role requires machining expertise, precision measurement, and collaboration with engineering for new products and improvements.

The candidate will read blueprints, set up and operate machine tools, and ensure quality through inspections while supporting continuous improvement and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school education required, apprenticeship path typical.
• Able to read/write English and use shop math.
• CAD experience preferred but not required (AutoCAD, Inventor).
• ERP experience preferred (Epicor).
• Accurite Controller experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints from instructions or the part to be copied or fitted.
• Plan setup and operation of machine shop tools considering material, tolerances, tooling, and feeds/speeds.
• Establish inspection specs and perform quality checks with precision measuring tools.
• Perform precise hand-finishing to meet fitment, finishes, and geometries.
• Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies with precision; diagnose issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete quality documentation for produced parts; assist maintenance in machine repair as needed.
• Collaborate with designers/engineers on tooling and prototype builds; support continuous improvement.
