Job summary

Crown Holdings, Inc. in Dubuque, IA is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to support high-speed can and end manufacturing. You will set up machine tools, repair dies, and ensure tight tolerances using micrometers and calipers.

The role requires strong blueprint reading and problem-solving skills along with teamwork on production improvements. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in manufacturing, and familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and MS Office for reporting.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience working with ferrous, non-ferrous and non-metallic materials.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and parts specifications.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.
• Repair or alter dies and parts, and manufacture replacement components.
• Use precision instruments to assemble, fit and align parts to tight tolerances.
• Manage tooling inventories and tool packs; plan setups and tolerances.
• Study specs and blueprints to determine materials and machines needed.
• Run in-process quality checks to ensure customer specifications.
