Job summary

John Deere in Dubuque, IA is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to plan, lay out, and build intricate tools, fixtures, dies, and gauges with high precision. You will read design prints, set up processes, and devise attachments to complete complex jobs in a safety- and quality-focused environment.

Responsibilities include supporting maintenance programs, inspecting equipment, and assisting team members. The role requires a minimum of 3 years in manufacturing, a journeyman card or equivalent

Qualifications

• Must be able to layout and fabricate parts to tight tolerances.
• Experience using precision measuring tools and gauges is required.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as manufacturing demands.
• Ability to read prints and work from design sketches or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, and construct tools, fixtures, dies, and gauges.
• Perform setups and devise attachments for job completion.
• Check and adjust inspection equipment with master gauges.
• Repair tools, fixtures, dies, or gauges and perform standard toolmaker tasks.
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain a clean, safe work area.
