Job summary

J.V. Manufacturing in Natrona Heights, PA (Plant 16) is seeking an experienced machinist to perform general machining, tooling service, and precision grinding to support production.

You will read blueprints, set up machines, measure parts, and ensure adherence to quality and SOPs. The role offers hands-on training, mentorship, overtime opportunities, and a path to skilled trades within a family-owned environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience reading blueprints and layouts
• Familiarity with inspection and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers)
• Experience setting up and operating machine tools (lathe, milling, grinder)
• Ability to work to SOPs and quality standards

Responsibilities

• General machining of repairs or adjustments to maintain production
• Sharpen, maintain and service tooling as required
• Inspect, measure, and verify parts against specifications
• Study blueprints to plan setups and sequences
• Select and mount grinding wheels and adjust tools for required cuts
• Document time and work performed accurately
• Participate in training and cross-training as assigned
