Job summary

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is seeking a full-time Apprentice – Finish Grinder to join our Carbide manufacturing team. This hands-on program blends on-the-job training with in-house classes, leading to Journeyworker title.

You will learn to operate manual and CNC grinders, read blueprints, and verify parts with precision tools. Ideal candidates have math/mechanical aptitude and are reliable, with daylight shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• Must have math & mechanical skills/aptitude.
• Ability & desire to do precision work.
• Able to work independently and with a team.
• Blueprint reading and use of precision measurement tools desirable.
• Regular attendance and solid apprenticeship-class performance.
• Shift flexibility; 8–10 hours/day; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate manual and CNC grinding equipment.
• Read prints and job orders to determine dimensions and setup.
• Attend on-site apprenticeship classes and on-the-job learning.
• Grind carbide components to exact blueprint specifications.
• Verify finished work using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
