J.V. Manufacturing Co. Inc is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker for our Plant 16 in Natrona Heights, PA.

You will perform general machining, service tooling, and inspect parts to ensure they meet precise specifications. You will study blueprints, select materials and tooling, and set up machines including lathes, mills, shapers, and grinders to produce dies and components. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in manufacturing, high school diploma, and willingness to learn within a family-owned,

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 3+ years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• General machining to maintain production.
• Sharpening, maintaining and servicing tooling.
• Inspecting and measuring workpieces to meet specifications.
• Study blueprints to plan grinding procedures and machine setups.
• Mounting grinding wheels and selecting tools per specifications.
• Compute dimensions and adjust tools for specified cuts.
• Dresses grinding wheels per specifications.
• Finish surfaces with prescribed hand tools and methods.
• Safely manufacture and service dies, parts, and spare parts per SOP.
• Study specifications to determine materials and machines to fabricate parts.
• Select materials, machines, tooling, and gauging instruments.
• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
• Consider heat-treat shrinkage and tolerances.
• Review dies/tools and suggest design modifications.
• Investigate problems and apply problem-solving techniques.
• Maintain focus on productivity and uptime.
• Complete paperwork accurately and track time worked.
• Participate in training and cross-training.
