Job summary

Silgan Dispensing in Grandview, MO is seeking an experienced tool and die maker to analyze specifications, set up and operate machine tools, and fabricate and repair dies, gauges, and related tooling. You will work with lathes, milling machines, EDM, Pantograph and grinders to produce parts to tight tolerances, often within .0005 to .0001 clearance, and contribute to mold and fixture development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years in tools, dies, molds, and gauges
• Four-year apprenticeship or equivalent
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to determine materials and machines needed.
• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, EDM, Pantograph and grinders.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances; finish parts to print with tight tolerances (as close as .0001).
• Heat-treat tools or parts and assemble/fit components; finish mold cavities and cores.
• Repair dies and molds; develop tools and gauges; construct fixtures for grinding and machining.
