Job summary

Petersen, part of the Precinmac family, is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant in Ogden, UT. The role supports production by building tool assemblies, verifying dimensions, and delivering tooling to the machine shop to maintain smooth operation and meet aerospace and defense standards.

The position requires mechanical aptitude, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work with calipers, micrometers, and indicators. Training is provided, with a 4x10 schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read tool prints and build to print tolerance.
• Close attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic shop math (decimals, fractions, measurements).

Responsibilities

• Build cutting tool assemblies (holders, collets, cutters, inserts, extensions) to tool prints.
• Set and verify assembly lengths and dimensions to print tolerance using a tool pre-setter.
• Install and remove tools in heat-shrink holders using a shrink-fit machine.
• Check dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Tear down returned assemblies; clean and inspect components for wear or damage, and return good components to stock.
• Participate in tooling trials, process improvements, and engineering change implementation.
