Job summary

Metraflex Company Inc. is seeking skilled TIG welders to join our manufacturing team in Chicago. You will cut and join metals and other materials with precision, following safety rules and engineering drawings to build robust piping assemblies.

The role requires experience with ASME Section 9, open root pipe welding, and the ability to read specs. Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and physical stamina are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Weld to ASME Section 9 standards.
• Familiarity with open root schedule 40 pipe welding.
• Read and interpret drawings, templates and specifications.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and practices.
• Verify quality and quantity of piping products.
• Lift and maneuver components weighing up to 20–50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Weld to ASME Section 9 standard.
• Familiarity with open root schedule 40 pipe.
• Plan layout, assemble and weld components.
• Apply knowledge of geometry and metal properties to welds.
• Position, align and fit components for piping assemblies.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow safety procedures.
• Inspect finished piping products for quality and accuracy.
