Job summary

Knowles in Liberty, SC is seeking a welding technician to perform TIG and laser welds on thin gauge sheet steel and aluminum, reading blueprints and callouts to ensure proper fit and weld quality. The role requires good measurement skills with calipers and micrometers, adherence to safety protocols, and teamwork to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Experience with fixturing and alloy properties is valued; standing and movement in a dynamic environment is required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in TIG welding thin gauge sheet steel and aluminum is necessary.
• Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and callouts.
• Capability to perform high-quality welds and maintain tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality TIG and Laser welds on varied thicknesses (.040” to .25”).
• Read blueprints and welding callouts to ensure correct fit and welds.
• Measure parts with calipers and micrometers to verify tolerances.
• Operate welding and cutting equipment safely following all protocols.
• Collaborate with team to improve manufacturing processes.
