Job summary

PI (Physik Instrumente), LP is seeking a LinearPrecision Grinder at our Shrewsbury, MA facility. This full-time role offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus and a 7:00 am–3:30 pm Monday–Friday schedule.

The ideal candidate has experience in precision surface grinding, reading blueprints, and applying lean manufacturing principles to high-precision components used in air bearing product lines. Join a team dedicated to meticulous craftsmanship and ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with machining and grinding concepts, techniques, and strategies.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints and related work instructions.
• Working knowledge of grinding fundamentals (gained through experience and training).
• Ability to work self-sufficiently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate surface grinders to grind components used in our air bearing product line.
• Transform single piece prototypes to low-volume production parts with tight tolerances.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure specifications and tolerances are met.
• Interpret engineering drawings and process parts independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintain alignment with production schedules, cost objectives, and quality standards.
