Job summary

PI (Physik Instrumente), LP in Shrewsbury, MA is hiring an ID/OD Precision Grinder for a full-time 7am-3:30pm role. You will perform cylindrical grinding to support prototype and low-volume production with tight tolerances, using Studer grinders, and participate in inspections.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, hands-on grinding experience, blueprint literacy, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for long shifts. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with machining and grinding concepts and strategies.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret work instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lb and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Own precision ID/OD grinding operations using Studer Grinders.
• Transform prototypes to low-volume parts with strict tolerances.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to meet specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings and process parts independently.
• Maintain alignment with schedules, costs, and quality standards.
• Apply 5S and lean principles per ISO 9001.
