Qualifications

• Manufacturing or industrial experience, especially in metal/steel processing.
• Mechanical aptitude to understand machine functions and adjustments.
• Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and job specs.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate cuts and quality.
• Physical ability to lift and move steel safely.
• Safety-first mindset and commitment to a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor shear equipment to cut steel to required dimensions.
• Safely load and unload steel using cranes, forklifts, or material-handling equipment.
• Measure and inspect finished pieces for accuracy against specs.
• Adjust blades, back gauges, and machine settings per job requirements.
• Follow OSHA safety procedures and use PPE.
• Record production data, material usage, and job completion details.
• Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and routine machine maintenance.
