Steel Cutter / Fabrication Cutter in Northeast San Antonio is hiring to support fabrication operations by accurately measuring, marking, cutting, and preparing steel according to shop drawings and customer specs. This hands-on role contributes to quality and on-time production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing, welding, or industrial environment.
• Ability to read a tape measure and use measuring tools accurately.
• Basic understanding of fabrication drawings and material specifications.
• Ability to safely operate metal cutting equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Measure, mark, and cut steel pipe, tubing, plate, and structural steel according to blueprints, work orders, and customer specifications.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, measurements, and production specifications to ensure accurate material preparation.
• Operate metal cutting equipment, including band saws, cold saws, chop saws, plasma cutters, and oxy-fuel cutting torches.
• Verify dimensions, maintain tight tolerances, and ensure quality standards throughout the cutting process.
• Load, unload, move, and organize steel materials while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
