Qualifications

• Five years of structural steel fitting or fabrication experience.
• Confident reading shop drawings and fabrication prints.
• Experience fitting beams, plates, angles, or built-up steel components.
• Strong tape measure, layout, and basic math skills.
• Welding, cutting-torch and grinder experience.
• Ability to calculate angles using basic trigonometry.
• Overhead-crane experience preferred.
• Safety-first mindset and dependable attendance.
• Clear communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings.
• Measure, lay out, cut, fit, and assemble built-up steel components.
• Position and align beams, plates, angles, and other materials.
• Make accurate cuts using torches and grinders.
• Tack and weld components per project specs.
• Identify drawing, material, or measurement concerns.
• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications and quality standards.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting devices.
• Maintain organized work area and care for tools.
