Job summary

You will read a tape measure, perform basic math, set stops and guides, and use measurement tools to ensure accuracy. The role involves inspecting pieces, reporting defects, and maintaining a clean, safe work area on a full-time, on-site basis.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a band saw and/or chop saw in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read work orders and measure material accurately.
• Familiarity with basic math and measuring tools.
• Ability to set stops/guides to specified lengths.
• Ability to identify defects and report issues.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and gather required tools and materials.
• Set up saw machine and adjust for each job.
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths.
• Operate saw safely and monitor for defects or issues.
• Use measurement tools to verify cuts and accuracy.
• Inspect finished pieces for quality and report discrepancies.
• Transport finished pieces to designated area.
• Maintain saw and perform routine cleaning.
• Keep work area organized and clean daily.
• Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or materials.
• Communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
• Follow company procedures and rules.
