Job summary

Sonic Reference Laboratory, Inc in Austin, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support specimen receipt, processing, and data entry. You’ll work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced clinical setting and contribute to high-quality patient care.

The role requires an Associate Degree or Phlebotomy Certification with a HS Diploma, strong reading and typing skills (10-key), and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Phlebotomy Certification with High School Diploma.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Typing proficiency, including 10-key.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or medical technologist certification is a plus.
• 2+ years of laboratory training or specimen handling experience.
• Data entry experience in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify check shipper sample types and ensure empty.
• Complete Specimen receipt logs.
• Specimen receipt and forward problem samples/orders to exception handling.
• Identify issues (ordering, labeling, specimen).
• Aliquoting of samples.
• Shipping to other referral labs.
• Data entry.
