Job summary

S.E.S Global Inc. is seeking a qualified Shop Machinist in Houston to set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, manufacturing precision components for industrial equipment.

You will read blueprints, select tooling, and perform a range of turning, milling, drilling, grinding operations to tight tolerances. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of shop experience with manual machines, CNCs, and metrology tools, and are able to work overtime as project demands dictate.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual machines and CNC tooling.
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect parts.
• Knowledge of machining tolerances and processes.
• Willing to work overtime and varying schedules across projects.
• Experience with heavy industrial equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC tools (lathes, mills, drills, grinders) per drawings.
• Machine, repair, modify, and fabricate components according to specs.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Choose tooling, speeds, feeds, and methods for materials.
• Perform turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and related operations.
• Measure finished parts with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators.
• Perform tool changes and offsets as required.
• Identify machining problems and adjust to maintain quality.
• Maintain tolerances and dimensional specifications.
• Keep machines and work areas clean and safe.
• Collaborate with Millwrights, Welders, Mechanics, and Engineers.
